God Is Looking for Extra!

God is looking for Extra

Psa 119:10 With my whole heart have I sought thee: Oh let me not wander from thy commandments. Thy word have I laid up in my heart, That I might not sin against thee. Blessed art thou, O Jehovah: Teach me thy statutes.

I have been asking God in prayer for quite some time now, to teach me. I am seeking the wisdom only He can give. I want to know what He wants me to know. But God is looking for a people who will seek Him. Spend some time in prayer. Don’t just kneel down so that you won’t feel guilty when the preacher is preaching. Don’t just pray to be able to say you do.

How long has it been, since you knelt down, and just loved on Him for a while. Not asking for anything. Not giving Him lists of people who need to be saved and healed. Don’t get me wrong. We all need to pray for the lost and sick and hurting. But God desires YOU! He wants your time. He wants you to just BE with Him for a while.

I noticed a while back, that I had gotten into the habit of spending a set amount of time in prayer. Every day the same amount of time. And when the time was over, I was very quick to get up. Then God impressed on me, to stay a little longer. Turn off the “stopwatch” and just stay a little longer. And I noticed that it was during this “extra time” it seems like I really began to hear from God. Oh yeah, He was hearing from me plenty. But now, there was real praying going on. So now, when I go to prayer, I still pray for the sick, the lost, my family, my church family, and many others. But then, I wait. I stop and listen. I welcome the Holy Spirit to come and teach me, speak to me, help me. And He does!

Dear Heavenly Father,
We welcome you to our lives.
We desire more of you, more of your wisdom, more of your teaching,
More of your Spirit.

I pray for all my friends, the ones reading this right now,
Give them a desire to know you more,
Help them to be deligent in prayer.

God, we want more.
We realize we are not as hungry as we should be.
Change me now Lord, in the Name of Jesus!
